The American Wood Protection Association (www.AWPA.com) is the recognized standards-writing body for the entire wood preservation industry. Copies of the current AWPA specifications can be ordered from this site.
Timber Products Inspection (www.tpinspection.com) is the largest wood inspection company in North America and the primary contractor for NRECA's WQC program. Information on the various inspection services offered and contact names for speaking with TP about the WQC program are located here
The North American Wood Pole Council (www.woodpoles.org) site contains the largest accumulation of articles on the production, use, disposal and characteristics of wood poles and cross-arms available.
The RUS site (www.usda.gov/rus/electric/listmat/index.htm) contains all of the organization’s current wood product bulletins about poles, cross-arm, quality control and more, and also contains information about proposed specification changes for these bulletins.
